Olive oil, a matter of family
Olive oil and Podere Casa Poggiali, a matter of family. At the end of the XIX century, the grand grand father Luigi Poggiali, bought some lands around Brisighella where he decided to settle together with his wife and his 2 daughters, Carla and Paola. Since the beginning, he planted there olive oil trees and grapevines and their production were used basically for family consumption. At that time, olive oil milling was done by a rudimental millstone which can be used under request also today.

During the ’70 the olive oil production increased becoming the most important activity in the Podere casa Poggiali, since the family-company became the official supplier for some famous local restaurants (called “Trattoria”). In the same period, the olive oil culture in the Brisighella was growing a lot, culminating with the award of the PDO status (Protected Designation of Origin) during 1996: the olive oil of Brisighella was the first in the whole Europe to obtain this important prize. In particular, in the disciplinary datasheet was written down (as it is also now) that to be part of the PDO, the 90% of the olive oil must coming from “Nostrana” olive grown in Brisighella, in order to guarantee the Made in Italy feature for this important product.
During these years, also the milling process has been change in order to guarantee one of the most precious olive oil in the world.

Today the management of the family-company has just arrived at the 4th generation, which wanted to combine the ancient tradition of the olive oil production to the last innovations in terms of milling process and worldwide breath, thanks to the use of the internet. In this way, avoiding any kind of intermediation or alteration, you can have the bright green Italian olive oil just produced from the ground directly to your dinner table. You need just some click!
